Candadian producer Mix Chopin has made a fine edit of Junior Jack track Thrill Me. This 2002 floor filler has got a 2011 (or is it 2012?!) fix. The funky bass line has got a more prominent function, but mainly Mix Chopin has managed to keep the late 90’s/early 00’s sound among Stardust and others. Läs mer »
The Australian house duo Bag Raiders has been raised to skies by the TAjT crew since Shooting Stars. Good for us their self titled album released late fall 2010 didn’t bring us any dissapointment. No one could have missed that Gomma’s Mathias Modica aka Munk released his new album last Friday. The Mondo Vagabondo EP made a vow of what to come and I’m overwhelmed by the result. This is so good! This is new stuff from the masters of disco house, Armand Van Helden and A-Trak a k a Duck Sauce! The track is a rip from Louis La Roche’s Triple J mix up so the quality is kind of shit. But when a track start circulate in some mixtapes from well-known producers, that’s a sign of something. In 99 cases out of 100 I don’t get curious on how an artist sound like after hearing their name. They got to convince me first and then I can say ”yeah this music goes really well with that name”. Rubix is back with some new remixes and a minimix, and we jump of joy.
Don Diablo asked Rubix for a remix of Who’s Your Daddy. To be honest I hate the original track and was a bit worried when I got the remix from Rubix. But he has made, what I thought was impossible, a great track out of it. The few good parts from the original are made into a funky disco track with Rubix written all over it. Great! Läs mer »
A quick post on Louis La Roche. He just put out this great Walk Before You Run Mixtape, with a sneak peak of his upcoming single My Turn. It’s a very sensitive disco track with Yann Destal aka Modjo on song. My Turn is the kind of very well, but not over-, produced song that makes you cry of happiness and joy. Especially the chorus. Homework is a Dutch duo always in progress. Their Fissa Tune EP released on German Exploited Records a month ago has got remarkable reviews by producers such as Brodinski, A-trak and Round Table Knights. The title track Fissa Tune feels like their signature song but I prefer I Got Two, which is a real floor filler disco track. I’d like to hear much more of this duo. Läs mer »
Today I ran into this French producer at Trash Kids Party. It’s great, classic disco house. Here’s an original track and a remix of French Shake That Girl track Have A Good Forever. There’s three more great disco tracks and a video on their MySpace. Watch it! Other than that there’s not so much more to say about Fifløs, since I can’t find any bio or any other blogpost on them. I was running into Mix Chopin at Too Many Sebastians some days ago. And I got seriously stuck. Mix Chopin is the side project of Mix Match, a dj and producer from Toronto. Oh, the sound landscape – funky and danceable, but in all different ways. Bliss, is like this 80’s tv show intro with happy colourful people starring. Ecliptic is more lounge-like, smooth.
