Candadian producer Mix Chopin has made a fine edit of Junior Jack track Thrill Me. This 2002 floor filler has got a 2011 (or is it 2012?!) fix. The funky bass line has got a more prominent function, but mainly Mix Chopin has managed to keep the late 90’s/early 00’s sound among Stardust and others. Läs mer »
The Swiss’ synth master Luke Million released Italo Journey/Octobussy EP in September and Italo Journey is indeed a journey. If pt 1 is the steady marchin’ travel through outer space, pt 2 is the moon visit in 120 bpm F1 speed. Läs mer »
After almost two months of dead silence, the TAjT blog is back. And we’re so excited! It’s been two months of listening to loads of new great music and planning lots of fun stuff. One of those fun things (especially for you living in the Stockholm area) is this: Läs mer »
Treasure Fingers is US DJ and producer Ashley Jones who’s made his way to my ears with remixes on Chromeo, Monarchy and Tensnake. In the Ministry of Sound release of Eric Prydz new track Niton Treasure Fingers is showing of his talents again. Niton got the Eric Prydz signum of massive house written all over it. Treasure Fingers turn things upside down and out comes a track with distinct nu-disco vibes. So if you feel like dancing a bit this Monday, please do!
Before Kris Menace released his extremely well produced and extremely good Idiosyncrasies he was just a guy I happend to hear togheter with Fred Falke on BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix (yeah my bad I know). After he has become one of my favorite house producers. Läs mer »
Homework has been signed to Made To Play for their upcoming EP Trumpet Express. And what a signing by the label that also features Zombie Disco Squad, Round Table Knigts and Claude Von Stroke. The EP is a fantastic journey of new creative house music. Läs mer »
Some progressive/big room house for you this Thursday evening. Hailing from Stockholm, Tim Berg is a new rising star on the house scene. When starting out in 2008 he did as many new producers do when they looking for promotion, he turned to blogs. I’m sorry to say that even if he live in the same town as me, Tim Berg hasn’t been featured on the TAjT blog. But we’re about to change that. Läs mer »
Here’s a morningtune for all of you. Jakob Seidensticker is one third of German deep electro/dub-house/afro-beat trio Wareika. After putting most of his energy into the Wareika project Jakob is now focusing on his own productions again. By himself he keeps the dubby sound but travels more towards techno in his creations. Enjoy! Läs mer »
A quick post on Louis La Roche. He just put out this great Walk Before You Run Mixtape, with a sneak peak of his upcoming single My Turn. It’s a very sensitive disco track with Yann Destalaka Modjo on song. My Turn is the kind of very well, but not over-, produced song that makes you cry of happiness and joy. Especially the chorus. Homework is a Dutch duo always in progress. Their Fissa Tune EP released on German Exploited Records a month ago has got remarkable reviews by producers such as Brodinski, A-trak and Round Table Knights. The title track Fissa Tune feels like their signature song but I prefer I Got Two, which is a real floor filler disco track. I’d like to hear much more of this duo. Läs mer »
Oh No! is upcoming forth single by Marina And The Diamonds, from her debut album The Family Jeweles. Today she releases the video. It’s wide influenced by the 1990s cartoons and the old ”zany neon” MTV graphics. The director, Kinga Burza, have said that the concept is a interpretation of the lyrics, which just breathes consumerism, success, money and fame.
I was running into Mix Chopin at Too Many Sebastians some days ago. And I got seriously stuck. Mix Chopin is the side project of Mix Match, a dj and producer from Toronto. Oh, the sound landscape – funky and danceable, but in all different ways. Bliss, is like this 80’s tv show intro with happy colourful people starring. Ecliptic is more lounge-like, smooth.
No one of you can possible have missed that I like Louis La Roche. Today he has put out this funky remix of The Chemical Brothers’ Horse Power. Yesterday Louis tweeted ”so happy, i’ve got an 80’s legend singing on a track…this album is becoming a monster! I’m setting a deadline to finish it this month!”.
